Reader Submission - 2010-11 Gwinnett Gladiators Danick Paquette Jersey

Our latest reader submitted jersey comes from Bill Belanger, and it's from an ECHL team from Georgia, and aside from the Atlanta's Thrashers and Flames, it's the only other team from Georgia to appear on Third String Goalie.

Here is Bill's story about his attractive game used jersey. Yes, some jerseys are "game worn", but don't show much actual "use" like this one!
I noticed you didn’t have any Gladiators up so I thought I would send you mine.

It is Danick Paquette’s 2010-2011 first half road jersey. It is absolutely hammered, tons of holes, burns, tears etc. In the 3rd pic you can see that the fight strap was forcibly removed at some point and hastily repaired with a little loop. When you rack up 179 PIMs you need a fight strap pretty bad. In fact Meigray issued a 2nd first half that he wore so my jersey wasn’t even worn the whole first half. Combine that with the fact that the coach sat him for several away games and the wear on this thing is silly for maybe seeing 10 games.

Youtube will get you plenty of examples of his fights but this one is one of the best, its slow to start but gets good at the end.
There is also a nice brawl against FL in which he ends up repeatedly pounding a guy into the ice which sparks a lousy goalie fight.
He has always been a pest, including being the QMJHL record PIM holder.
He is now in the Capitals organization and was just sent down to the SC Stingrays of the ECHL where he will likely stay all year, causing us havoc as his former team always seems to get it worst.

Thanks to Bill for taking the time to photograph his jersey, research the videos and write his story. We really appreciate the efforts involved with sharing our reader's jerseys. The font for the Gladiators names and numbers certainly is one we don't ever recall seeing before, but it's very effective when it comes to adding to the theme of the jersey.

If you have a jersey in your collection that you'd like to share with us and your fellow readers, please submit your pictures and a story to go with it, no matter how brief or detailed, to spyboy1@gmail.com and we look forward to seeing your favorites.
